Is DealYourOwn.com full service?

Yes. DealYourOwn.com believes full-service means offering you choices in what services you need to buy or sell a home. All DealYourOwn.com representatives are fully licensed and able to provide any type of service you request – including the more traditional method of selling your home.

How can DealYourOwn.com offer this service so cheaply?

DealYourOwn.com means the seller is involved in the process. That saves money. Every transaction we successfully handle means we are paid. Successful sales do not subsidize unsuccessful sales in the DealYourOwn.com method.

How do I list my home with DealYourOwn.com?

Locate a DealYourOwn.com office through our website. A DealYourOwn.com representative can get your home on our website and the Multiple Listing Service.

Do I have to list my home on the Multiple Listing Service?

Yes. We require all of our listings to be included on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS).

How long do I have to list a home?

DealYourOwn.com prefers a six-month listing contract; however, it’s up to the homeowner to decide on the listing term.

Can I cancel my listing?

Yes. With a written notice to your agent, you can cancel your listing agreement at any time.

Does DealYourOwn.com help me price my home?

Yes. We’ll do a comparative market analysis---that will measure the value of your home to other homes of the similar worth.

Does DealYourOwn.com help me with the paperwork?

Yes. DealYourOwn.com handles the real estate transaction from start to finish including all listing contracts, disclosures, purchase agreements and closing documents.

What happens when I receive an offer?

All offers should be presented to your agent first. Then, the agent will help you review the offer and guide you through the negotiation process.

Does DealYourOwn.com do any advertising?

Yes. DealYourOwn.com does general advertising to drive customers to the website. However, in an effort to keep our fees at a reduced cost, DealYourOwn.com does not advertise each individual listing.

Does DealYourOwn.com provide signage and brochure boxes?

Yes. DealYourOwn.com has full-size real estate signs and brochure boxes to ensure you market your home to every potential buyer.

Is there a fee to extend the listing?

DealYourOwn.com does require a re-listing fee after the contract expires. This is a small fee (usually $50) to extend it.

Is the $1,500 fee due at closing mandatory even if I use my attorney?

Yes. This fee is not a closing fee. It acts as the remainder of our commission. Unlike your attorney, we are involved in the whole sales process to coordinate everything from inspections to closing paperwork.

What if I sell my home myself?

We’ll help negotiate the terms of the sale, fill out the purchase agreement and handle the entire closing process. The only fee you’ll pay is the fee DealYourOwn.com charges at the end of the process.

If another agent finds an acceptable offer for my home, do I have to pay them a commission?

Yes. In our listing you will specify the amount of commission you will want to pay other real estate agents that find a successful buyer.

May a buyer contact me directly after another real estate agent shows my home to them?

They can contact you but you will still owe the real estate agent a commission if customers successfully purchase your home.

How much commission do I have to pay to cooperating brokers?

Generally, DealYourOwn.com offers half of a normal commission to real estate agents but commissions are negotiable and it’s up to you on how much commission you choose to offer.

If a DealYourOwn.com representative finds a buyer for my home, do I still have to pay a commission?

Yes. If we find a client to buy your home, you will owe us a commission as well.

How do other real estate agents sell my home?

We will set up an appointment to have them show your home or the agents can contact you directly to schedule an appointment with their clients.

Will other brokers boycott my listing?

No. Our system is designed around full-service real estate agents still receiving a normal commission so there’s no disadvantage to selling a DealYourOwn.com listing.
